Relay for Life

16 Mar

First and most important, profuse thanks to Mandie, Regenia, my Mum, and my MIL, who all came to the party with donations totalling $95. Good on you ladies, you all rock!

The Relay for Life was a fantastic event – I wish we could have stayed longer, but with two little boys on the rampage that simply wasn’t possible this year. It started at 3.45pm yesterday afternoon, and went all night, with teams aiming to walk right through till 10.45am this morning. We arrived at about 5.30pm, and got straight into the swing of things with a couple of laps before the boys discovered the jumping castle. I dropped them off there and got another two or three laps in before taking a quick break to have a drink and take some pics. Then things started to get fun. There were belly dancers,

and an entire wedding party who stopped by to get a couple of laps in between church and reception,

there were yoga enthusiasts who offered to stand on their heads as long as people kept throwing money in a bowl. They kept it up for better than fifteen minutes and raised upwards of $100.

Then once it got dark, we lit some candles.

With a little bit of luck, all the fun we had will get us one step closer to a cure.

Looks like such a good time! Does the money go for cancer research? (I must have missed that part)

AWESOME!! Isn’t it spectacular how people can get together and work towards a common goal, and still have fun??
And (even though I know that you know, and you know that I know that you know, etc etc ad nauseum) FYI – You Make My Day :>
