Once Upon A Time, A Long, Long Time Ago….

31 Mar

… in fact, eighteen years ago today, a very thin girl put on an extremely posh frock and married her best friend.

And they lived happily ever after.

Happy Anniversary!! I love happy marriage stories, and I heartily recommend that everyone marry their best friend, if at all possible. 🙂

I have tried and tries and tried to stay away from this blog…. truly i have….
I hear the stories of the wonderful people that frequent the blog, have increased the day to day pleasure of my darling wife, and i say thank you.

You see what Kate has forgotten to mention in her simple entry today is that she has had to put up with a lot over the last 18 years.

We married young, lived on next to nothing, she followed me where my work was want to put us (18 times in the first 13 years), never complained when i left stable career after stable career to persue personal goals. Hung in there when we discovered she was growing Sasquatch, my business went into receivership and we got booted from our accomodation ( yes that was 1 week), moved 200 kms from her family to live in a broken down shack in a small rural town, while i picked up the pieces of going bankrupt.

Hung in there when boyo was diagnoised with Aspergers and i was flitting around the country for months on end leaving her alone with 2 boys under the age of 6, with no money.

Oh yes, she has put up with a hell of a lot, and still she loves me, as i her.

So to all of her friends here in blogland let me pronounce a toast…
