Spring is Sproinging

20 Sep

Ah, September; the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the blossoms are blossoming: in short, Primavera is doing her thing all over our little neck of the woods.

And me? I am knitting these:

Elbow-length Aran-weight mitts. Because I am a crazy woman. Today was t-shirt weather; I won’t need these for at least six or seven months, but I can’t leave them alone. I love the yarn (Patons SWS in Natural Earth, a Christmas gift from Becky), I love the pattern (Evangeline, a free download on Ravelry). It’s all a very happy thing.

And when the first frost silvers up the world next May-June, I will be ready to throw down the gauntlet, if you’ll pardon the pun.

Pretty flower pictures – and the mitts are pretty too [a tad unnecessary today – apparently it was the hottest day this year in Sydney – 31C!]

I love that Evangeline pattern. I keep making them and storing them in the closet for Christmas gifts. Beautiful colorway you’ve got there, too.

Thanks for sharing the flowers – it is getting chilly here. 😦 So glad you are using the SWS so you can be addicted like me!

Mwa ha ha I spread the love of Evangelines!!! And don’t mock the weather – we’ve got snow on the mountain again, and the occasional burst of horizontal sleet at suburb-level.
