It’s a dirty job, but someone’s gotta do it.

The Vital Statistics:

  • Pattern: None. Plain stocking-stitch roll-brim hat out of my own brain. For the sepal, I looked up a pic of an eggplant online, and winged it, occasionally going back to the picture for inspiration.
  • Yarn: Hat EGMTK! sock , dark purple semi-solid. Sepal – Yarncakes merino 4ply‘Sir Walter’ colourway.
  • Needles: 3mm Knitpicks Harmony fixed circ for the hat, 2.5mm Knitpicks nickel fixed circ for the sepals.
  • Thoughts: Love knitting baby clothes in general (it’s the instant-gratification thing), and this little hat in particular. The colours are scrumptious, and the yarn is dreamily soft. Happy happy joy joy.

But now the burning question is, whatever shall I do with the leftovers?

That’s 96g and 95g of sock yarn in two of my very favouritest colours. I guess I’ll just have to knit some socks with ’em.

Heh heh heh.

Was just reading a blog post from someone who has just finished a pair of green/purple/black striped socks. I’ll see if I can remember which one, they were way cool!

When that hat is warming a gorgeous baby’s noggin, it will be Death By Cute Overload!!!

And every time you look at your socks, you will remember the hat – ah, the connectedness of it all!!!
