As a follow-up to my post the other day about Boyo and the new food regime – just now we finished dinner. Crispy chicken wraps were on the menu, and he had his with a little bit of lettuce. Just common old iceberg lettuce, but that constitutes the first real, honest-to-god Green Stuff that my boy has eaten in literally years!
And…. HE LIKED IT! He even ASKED FOR MORE!!!

WOOHOOOOOO!!! Do you think he might like to grow some lettuce and eat it fresh from the garden?
Way ahead of you, honey. I’ve got the garden bed all picked out and we are pulling out the weeds today. There will also be cherry tomatoes and sugar-snap peas going in – the sort of stuff my grandfather used to grow for us kids. I have vivid memories of sitting on Pop’s back steps, eating cherry toms like they were lollies.
And carrots, don’t forget the carrots! Mind you they need loose almost sandy soil otherwise they end up all short and stocky, they don’t like growing down through hard ground. Then you have all the ingredients for a quick salad 🙂
