Virus-addled musings

21 Sep

I have the flu.

While I am not at death’s door, I still feel remarkably crappy, and so have spent some considerable time the last couple of days parked on the couch knitting and watching Heroes on DVD. While watching, I have once again noticed something that I thought I would mention here, for lack of anything noteworthy about which I could blog.

Here it comes.

Are you ready?

I like a bit of rough.

I don’t know if you are familiar with the characters or plot of Heroes, but one of the main protagonists is an artist named Isaac Mendez, who paints the future. Trouble is, he can only access his power through the use of heroin. Eventually, he cleans up his act and discovers that he can actually do his thing without the drugs, and tra-la-la, all is well in the funky, groovy New York loft.

My point is, tortured junky Isaac is way, way  hotter than clean and sober Isaac.

This is not only true of this one particular case.

Did you ever see Will Smith in Hancock?

This is delicious.

This is manscaping run amok.

Need more proof? Hugh Jackman:

Please sir, may I have some more?

Cottage cheese.

I could offer further examples, but my head is filling up with you don’t want to know what kinds of ghastly fluids, so I’m going to go back to my couch, my knitting, and my dreams of scruffy-looking men.

P.S. This is the second time in as many months that Tech Support has brought pestilence into the house. Next time he comes home all snuffley and feeling-sorry-for-himself, I’m just going to lock him in his office until he either gets better or dies.

Tech support needs to go through one of those Star Trek type germ cleanser things from Enterprise!! Hope you are feeling better immediately. Yes, I know Heroes, I watched the first season and a bit and then it, or I , lots the plot!!

Oh honey that just sucks. Next time Tech support can sleep on the spare bed/couch so you don’t catch it. And I agree with the whole rough edges versus smooth man thing. Like the look of the nice smooth guys, love the feel of the rough ones 🙂

My husband brings pestilence home, too. Next time he travels internationally, I’m quarantining him when he gets home.

You can try oscillocinum (sp? not sure) or gelsemium for flu symptoms. Hope you feel better soon!
